Heli skiing or Boarding
Heli Skiing the ultimate way in getting to some of the best skiable terrain around. The Helicopter ride alone is enough to get your adrenalin pumping, scooting in around mountain with birds eye view, your helicopter then set’s you down with your experience guide for the day. Then its untracked runs to yours heat content. Heli skiing and boarding is very accessible to all skiers you just need to be a minimum of an intermediate skier, but don’t think the advance skier get’s left out there is a multitude of terrain!
Snowmobiling
A super fun way to get out into the winter backcountry and see some untouched winter scenery. With a number of companies in town offering a variety of snowmobiling tours from your scenic trail riding to adventure wilderness tours that take you into the high alpine. Tours usually come with a minimum hot chocolate and a snack, there are dinner tours also – just ask us here at Mountain Advdentures.
Cross Country Skiing
Cross country skiing is a great alternative to downhill skiing, there is very well developed and maintained trail network in whistler set in the absolutely gorgeous Lost Lake area. Trails wind up and in the Lost Lake area taking you past many gorgeous view points, but my favorite is the loop that circles around the frozen “Lost Lake”. There is a warming hut here, you can have lunch or a nice break to warm up. The Whistler cross country area is very unique because it adds two golf courses into its trail network. The Fairmont golf course adds a mix of intermediate to advance trails set on some quite hilly terrain. The Nicholas North golf course located on the shore of Green Lake is perfect for beginners with its long flat wide trails. All trails are groomed and track set every night. Great for families and nature lovers (“I have seen Lynx, bobcat’s & Coyote’s while out skiing”- Sonia Anderson Owner of Mountain Adventures). Both skate and classic styles available!
